Books for beginners

This is the seal of Lucifer in Europe. Grimoirium Verum.

I started with the White Kabbalah

The Golden Dawn

I began the studies of High magick and Qabalah with the book Golden Dawn written by Israel  Regardie. This book was my nightmare, because it is so difficult.

I just shut the book and put it on my book shelf. Today, I know the Hebrew alphabet, the Tree of Life, The Tree of Qliphoth, and understand many parts of this book, and I can draw the seals of spirits.

The Tree of Life

After I put the Golden Dawn on my book shelf to become covered with dust,  I switched to the book: The Tree of Life by Israel Regardie.

After reading this book, I felt good about myself, because I started to understand the Tree of Life. Then I returned to the Golden Dawn to learn the rituals. Then I switched to other books, and then back again to the Golden Dawn and so on.

The Golden Dawn again

Israel Regardie: The Golden Dawn (I am still studying this book because of the Arbatel and the planetary talismans). This book contains instructions for the altar set up and even for the consecration of your ritual tools.

But as I wrote before, this book scares people, because its huge and very complex.

Modern magick

Donald Michael Kraig: Modern Magick (this book is very good, but it is difficult and takes a long time to study). Moreover, after reading this book, you will be able to set up your altar.

After you read this book, you will begin to understand the structure of Goetia and the Key of Solomon. The demons occupy specific spheres on the Tree of Life (or on the Qliphotic Tree).

You will also learn what type of magick to do and which colours to use. I don’t remember if I started to draw the seals from the Key of Solomon at this moment or earlier or later.

I remember clearly that I started to practice typing Hebrew words with the help of a Hebrew keyboard. In this way I learned the Hebrew alphabet very fast.

3 books of Occult philosophy

H. C Agrippa: Three books of Occult philosophy (I am still studying this book). This is a must have book for any serious student of the occult. Its a reference book.

If you need to look up the correct Hebrew spelling of an entities name, you may find it here, or in other occult books like 777 or OTO (something….I just don’t remember now).

Dion Fortune

Dion Fortune: The mystical Qabalah (this book is difficult and it should be read several times, because each time you read it, you see hidden messages between the lines)

Regardie & Cicero

Israel Regardie, Chic Cicero and Sandra Tabatha Cicero: A Garden of Pomegranates (paths and pathworking on the Tree of Life, meditations to balance the mind)

Chic Cicero & Sandra Tabatha Cicero: The essential Golden Dawn (introduction to this magickal path, what it is, some rituals for beginners, etc).

Crowley

Aleister Crowley: Magick in theory and practice

Lyam Thomas Christopher

Lyam Thomas Christopher: Kabbalah, Magic

Aaron Leitch

Aaron Leitch: Secrets of the Magickal Grimoires

Start with the White Kabbalah

I suggest that you start with the White Kabbalah to digest the basics of Kabbalah. Then you can switch to Black Kabbalah. By the way, the Black Kabbalah has nothing to do with cursing people.

It is called Black, because of the denser astral regions inhabited by demons. When the time is right for you, demons will come and introduce themselves to you. They will also teach you necromantic magick and planetary magick.

The studies of the Kabbalah is a life long adventure, nothing you can accomplish in a few months.

Christopher Penczak

The Temple of High Witchcraft

Migene Gonzalez- Wippler

Kabbalah for the modern world

Kindra Ravenmoon

Natural Satanic Witchcraft

S. Connolly: Daemonolatry Goetia

This is also a very good book and it is about Goetia magick. Each demon is described in detail including the demon’s abilities. There are seals in this book too (as I remember).

Thomas Karlsson

Thomas Karlsson: Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic magick (a very easy book if you understand the White Kabbalah, know the Hebrew alphabet and have a good knowledge of the Tree of Life).

Anton LaVey

The Satanic Bible

The Satanic rituals

The Grimoires

The Arbatel

The Key of Solomon

The Goetia

Grimoirium Verum

Heptameron

I think that there are more old spell books, but these are the ones I work with on a regular basis.

There are so many other books…you just have to comb the shops.
