Barzabel, the demon of Mars, is described in two books: The three books of Occult philosophy (H. C Agrippa) and the Golden Dawn. There are no good descriptions of Barzabel in those books though.

But there is a good description of the planetary talisman of Mars in the Magus by Francis Barrett:

“The third table belongs to Mars, which is made of a square of five, containing twenty-five numbers, and of these, in every side and diameter, five, which makes sixty-five, and the sum of all is three hundred and twenty-five.

And there are over it divine names with an intelligence to good, and a spirit to evil, and out of it is drawn the characters of Mars and of his spirits.

These, with Mars fortunate, being engraven on an iron plate, or sword, makes a man potent in war and judgement, and petitions, and terrible to his enemies, and victorious over them.

And if engraven upon the stone correola, it stops blood, and the menstrues. But if it be engraven, with Mars being unfortunate, on a plate of red brass, it prevents and hinders buildings – it casts down the powerful from dignities, honours, and riches – causes discord and hatred amongst men and beasts – drives away bees, pigeons, and fish – and hinders mills from working, i. e. binds them.

It likewise renders fighters and hunters unfortunate – causes barrenness in men and women – and strikes a terror into our enemies, and compels them to submit.”

Barzabel and how he can help you

This is the planetary talisman of Mars with the seals of Mars, Barzabel and Graphiel.

It is said that Barzabel teaches warfare and martial arts and makes one very successful in petitions. This is true if Mars is favourable in your natal chart and also in the sky when you create the planetary talisman of Mars.

It is also said that if Mars is in a bad position in your natal chart and during the creation of the planetary talisman of Mars, the outcome of your magick will be bad. You will have an ill ending, but you will be feared by people.

So, the seal of Barzabel is just a part of the planetary talisman of Mars. This talisman is astrological in nature and must be created when Mars is direct, when the moon is in a fiery sign or any other good sign, when the moon is waxing, full or waning (this depends upon your goal).

This talisman is also like double edged sword, because it may empower you or destroy you. But whichever happens to you, your enemies will fear you, because Barzabel teaches advanced protection magick.

Barzabel is not so good for you if you are very extrovert, love to be heard and seen, seek approval of people, cannot temper your anger and act on an impulse.

Algol, or the head of Medusa, is located 26 degrees of Taurus. Here is the timetable of demon star Algol (Medusa).

Magick with Medusa should be done when the star is visible or bright. Do not do magick with Medusa during the eclipses. The moon should not be in an opposing position to Taurus. It should be very near to Taurus (in conjunction).

People who do magick with the Algol talisman complain about problems with the internet. I too started to have such problems after magick with the Algol talisman.

These problems are connected to the eclipses of the Algol stars. Also, during the night and after I summoned Medusa for protection, I was dreaming of the Algol stars. The main Algol star (the head of Algol) was very brightly lit and was flying or orbiting the 2 other Algol stars.

The Algol talisman opened my eyes to the fact that an enemy had done magick on me and the magick was active. But because I have very strong protection from Sabnock, I could understand what is going on and took action.

Although I am not an astrologer, I dared to create a blue paper talisman of Algol and summoned Medusa. I was afraid that the protection spell will cause me trouble.

Medusa is good for protection and you should dare to summon her from time to time. Even if you order a metal Medusa talisman, it is meant for regular recharging with protection spells. If you do not recharge your Medusa talisman, I doubt that you will have strong protection in the long run.

This is the seal of the fixed star Algol and its demon. This seal is also known as the seal of Medusa.

The seal of Algol is used as a talisman for protection against curses and psychic offence. The incoming curses will be reflected to the sender.

Barzabel is a good teacher, but you need to be able to see the difference in your behaviour after each spell with Barzabel and be able to stop your magick when you feel or see lots of changes in you.

Its good to switch to other magick to give yourself a pause from magick with the spirits of Mars.

I did not like crying

My problem was that I used to become very sentimental when I saw animals and people suffer and die. I also admired and still admire men, because they don’t cry when they are sad.

I summoned Barzabel when I became angry at myself for crying at the cemetery. Each time I went to the cemetery to visit those I loved, I ended up sobbing and falling bitter tears.

I wanted to be like a man and these days thanks to Barzabel I can control my emotions. I feel a lot stronger and in control of my feelings.

I use the correspondences of Geburah in my spells with Barzabel:

Candles: red, black or white (use white candles if you cannot obtain red or black candles)

Number in magick: 5 (5 candles for example)

Metal: iron (use a hammer or steel coins, because steel contains iron)

My rituals with demon Barzabel

This is an example of the timing of one of my rituals with demon Barzabel: Mars was direct and lunar mansion Al Zubrah. Of course you should aim for a Tuesday.

This is what I use regularly:

a black candle (coating: olive oil, bay leaf, sage)

the planetary talisman of Mars (the seals of Mars, Graphiel and Barzabel)

a pendant on a chain

herbs for courage: cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, tobacco, yarrow, High John the Conqueror, chamomile and thyme

5 bright red/bright coral lipsticks (the number of Geburah)

The herbs, pendant and lipsticks become infused with the energies of the Martial spirits during the ritual. I wear my pendant on a daily basis and I wear my lipsticks daily too.
